My Characters

As a creative person, I have made many many OCs over the years; mainly to explore fantasies such as living as a national park ranger or to serve as characters in my projects.

Blueberry

Blueberry is the protagonist of my book, and the audience surrogate for Act 1. He is a Demi-Slug, an anthropoid slug species from the 1st Realm, who is ostracised from his community before the events of the book and meets Toadstool in the 0th Realm, Earth.

He wishes to live a quiet life, but is ambitious and dogmatic in trying to force this life upon others; this motivates his adventure to release the Petrified Child.

Toadstool

Toadstool is Blueberry's closest friend following their meeting, but acts as his foil in an unstable relationship that resolves at the end of the book. He is a deuteragonist, a Minikin, an anthropoid rodent species from the 2nd Realm, and a Bandit.

He found Blueberry in the 0th realm during an expedition where he hoped to steal human jewels and stones, but tried to hide this from him for fear of being hated. He was outcast by his family for his profession, despite the fact that they lived in poverty which drove him to it. He and Blueberry's differences are striking, but the glue between them is their inherent connection to eachother as people abandoned.

He dislikes anti-magic activists as he sees their philosophy as inherently anti-reality, rejecting the laws of the universe for no good reason other than they think they can choose what is good despite their insignificance.

Rivermoss

Rivermoss is a Minikin stateswoman, the leader of the Lichenia community in the 0th realm. She took over the role from her Father, the cultish Kemptmoss, who murdered her mother, Flowermoss, and underwent the Curse of Phantasmarrhoea.

She met Blueberry as he left the 2nd realm for a quieter life, less magic-filled and complicated than what Toadstool had shown him. She took him in, and appointed him a servant for her and the nobles, with the comfortable reward of having a place to live.

She met Toadstool when he arrived to convince Blueberry to give the 2nd Realm another chance, but grew to resent him after he accidentally brought them all to the ghastly -3rd Realm.

The Petrified Child

The Petrified Child is less of a person, but rather a deity created by a confluence of phenomena. It is made of stone, technically an Alucinarium geode, and has a shape of a curved inverse-teardrop, or a bean, with a childlike face permanently smiling with its eyes closed.

Its purpose is to destroy evil, seeing the world through eyes etched into rock known as Watchstones. It turns evil into fertile sludge, creating whats known as a Baby Meadow, an area of great ecological proliferation and -morbidly- death.

It was trapped in an Alucinarium cage by the Empire of the Petrified Child, on the day the empire fell, and its absence let the world slip into greta evil over the two millenia that passed before the events of the book. Blueberry's quest is to release the Petrified Child, and destroy the evil he sees in modern society, despite the genocidal implications he was too blinded by ambition to see.

Colt Cavendish

Colt is an albino caribou from another project of mine, untitled, but simply meant for me to play around with cute ideas. He is Christian, bored, and shy, but finds purpose in serving as a Park Ranger at the forest beside his hometown; he never was much of a city boy. He is 21, essentially a self-insert, but has a lot of unique characteristics.

Ayesha / Vampa

Vampa is a vampire, 2 thousand-something years old, and from the middle east. She similarly works as a Park Ranger, finding solace in the woods during the night so she can express herself as a forest cyptid. She signed up for the national park service in a devious attempt to seduce Colt ...and drink his blood.

Having been coworkers for a few years now, Colt has a crush on her, and her him, but she -blinded by thousands of years of being stoned and ostracised for witchcraft- believes she has to trap Colt into loving her. A part of her realises it would probably be healthier just to ask for it, but another part of her just wants to play with her food.

However, Colt enjoys every opportunity to be closer to her, and boredly shuts down her more trivial attempts to get his love (and blood), telling her she can just ask for it.
